Anaerobic Digesters Wakefield
Anaerobic Digesters (methane recovery)
Wakefield Waste Management has the capacity to gather animal manure from livestock operations including farms, dairy farms and abattoirs and recycle it into a valuable energy source.
We use anaerobic digesters (sometimes called ‘biodigesters’) as a means to recover biogas (methane and carbon dioxide) from animal manure. This subsequently generates electricity while reducing the methane emissions which lead to global warming.
It is actually a procedure that occurs naturally in nature and we achieve it through using airtight digester tanks. This not only recycles the waste efficiently but also controls odours.
